Two new Romance/Wedding Apps Coming in June!

©2012 Nicholas Nebelsky
It's a busy month in the Intense Media studio. Opening Rome, our popular app for visiting Rome will soon be available on the iPhone and iTouch so you can carry it around with you. We're expecting to upgrade the app soon to include better maps and more photos! In addition, we're also planning an extensive expansion to the iBook and Nook platforms. No word on when to expect those, however. The other exciting news is that we have a great app for the budget-minded wedding planners out there as well as later this year, we'll have a new app about Paris, France! So look for those later in the year.
Also check out our Kid's Book App Reviews link. We have two new app reviews posted in the last couple of months; "Moo, Baa, La La La!" and "Sight Words + More."

Easter Bunny Now Available on the Nook!
It's an exciting time at Intense Media! We've just added the Nook to our growing list of mobile devices to which our apps are available on; iPhone, iPad, iBook, and now Nook. One of the challenges about building a digital publishing company is that I can continue to publish new apps and hope that sales from my existing apps will carry the slow times. One such app that is surprising me is "Stuffed Books: Holiday Fun Book!" Here it is five months after Christmas, and the app is still being downloaded. It's so popular, that I'm creating Fun Books for other seasonal holidays as well.
The other encouraging news is that as a digital publisher, I can expand onto other devices relatively easily. The beauty of using Corona as my SDK, I'm able to write code once and deliver the goods to iOS, Nook, Amazon, and Samsung. Since I'm a one man show, it's a little slow sometimes in getting apps out the door, updating them for new software releases. In the very near future, I'll be uploading my apps to Amazon's Fire tablet. So instead of just having 6 apps, I'll have 6 apps on four different devices in over 130 different countries per year! ! ––Nick Nebelsky, CEO, Intense Media, LLC |
Apple Approves "Where's My Last Name?" for inclusion on iBooks Store!
(March 5, 2012) It was an agonizing three months with lots of trials and errors, but determination, hard work, research, and lots of praying brought good news to Intense Media, LLC. Under the imprint of Stuffed Books, Intense Media, LLC has published its first book to the iBooks store using iBooks Author. As part of its "Stuffed Books" imprint, all books will sell for only $1.99 and will be similar in scope to the books found on the app store, with less interactivity. The iBooks is just another means of distribution for Nick Nebelsky's art and writing. All books distributed in the iBooks store must include an ISBN as opposed to the app store where its not needed. The first book published is called, Where's My Last Name? and is available now on the iBooks store. Intense Media's second book about a bunny on Easter should be in the store by end of next week. More books are planned in travel and recipe books in the coming months.
The one-year-old start-up has five apps and one book available for download on the Apple App and iBooks stores, respectively. "I'm very excited to be able to offer children with quality books to read on their new iPads and iPhones," CEO and Creative Director Nebelsky added. The goal is to offer more titles in the next few years while also branching out into Android and Nook devices in the coming year. Nebelsky is also excited about a book its co-producing with a Professor from a leading university in North Carolina on Health and Nutrition for kids. More information will be released later this year about that and other titles.

Gilbert Mobile Development Company CEO Chosen as Ambassador for Palo Alto Company
_(March 1, 2012, Gilbert, AZ) Ansca Mobile, based in Palo Alto, CA and maker of Corona SDK, a cross-platform mobile development framework, has announced that
Nick Nebelsky, of Gilbert, AZ will become a company Ambassador,
representing Phoenix, AZ. Last month, Ansca Mobile embarked on a
world-wide search for Ambassadors to help their company grow by organizing
monthly meetings, industry events, and arranging for speakers to engage organizations interested in learning more about mobile development. Currently, Nebelsky uses Corona SDK as their mobile development framework allowing it to create books and games more quickly and efficiently than using Xcode alone.
Ansca Mobile is the creator of Corona SDK, the world's #1 mobile development software. It allows users to produce apps and games in a fraction of the code used with traditional methods such as Objective-C. Corona is more than a software development kit, it's a community of developers who are creating some of the top games and apps in the industry. Led by two former Flash engineers, Ansca Mobile is seeing substantial growth and sees the Ambassador program as a way to not only reach out to more users, but help developers from all over the world to form development communities to support one another. "Nebelsky brings enthusiasm and passion to our Ambassador program and we're very excited about his involvement with the company. He has expressed an interest in helping others to realize their potential," said Carols Icaza, co-founder. Corona SDK allows you to write code once, and distribute your apps to iOS, Android, Nook, and Amazon Fire. It does this using an easy-to-grasp language called .lua developed in Brazil in 1993.
Nebelsky adds: "I'm extremely excited about this opportunity from Ansca Mobile. I've been looking for a way to build a group of Corona developers in this area, and helping people is something I love to do anyway. The plan is to schedule monthly meetups for developers and also approach small business owners such as advertising agencies and book publishers that would like a presence on mobile devices. Meetups will consist of networking, troubleshooting, product demonstrations, and Corona Tutorials.
Nebelsky is CEO of Intense Media, LLC a one-year-old start-up that publishes interactive books and games for mobile devices. Nick has been a Certified Apple Developer since 2009, but it took him a year and a half to release his first app. Since joining with Corona SDK, his company has released four apps in six months. Nick encourage anyone with an interest in Corona to contact him via email. Nebelsky hopes to have their first Meetup in April or May, until then, please contact Nick at nick@intensemedia.com for more info or visit his web site at www.intensemedia.com."

Opening Rome: The Pope is Coming!!!!

©2011 Nicholas Nebelsky
(April 2, 2012) Due to unforeseen circumstances, the next revision of Opening Rome has been delayed until the first part of June. Two new albums of photographs will be added to the app; one devoted to St. Peter's Basilica (including the Musei Vaticani) and the other album will be devoted to a special audience with the Pope. The latter will be an up close invitation only access to the Pope for newly married Catholics. You won't want to miss it. Currently the FREE app features over 70 photos on 35 pages in its book, Opening Rome. The new photo albums will add an additional 200 photographs and descriptions along with advice on visiting the Musei Vaticani, and St. Peter's. In addition, there will be photos of a special wedding event reserved for Catholic newly weds that plan on making Italy their honeymoon choice.
If you're planning a trip to Italy in the near future, this is a must app. As a free resource, make sure Opening Rome is in your library of apps. We'll continue to make this app as strong as we can. This app was a joy to build and we'd like to reward those of you who have claimed it as a resource for your traveling needs. There is still so much more to share! Look for new updates throughout the year with a special emphasis on the Perugia Chocolate Festival in October along with some great traveling and transportation advice! –Nick Nebelsky

We've experienced stellar sales for My Basketball Stats (MBS)! It has always been my best seller until Hippos Name topped it one day. But just recently, we dropped the price from $1.99 to $.99 and MBS is now #1 again!
Read one of our fans email letters to us: Dear Nick, We've used it (My Basketball Stats) for 2 games and it works very well. I've spread the word amongst my "basketball buddies" so I hope you've seen some more downloads. I will ask them for feedback and forward that info to you. My husband is the one utilizing it during my daughters' games and he indicated that he would like to see turnovers and minutes played added to the stats available to track. Otherwise he finds it very easy to use and a valuable tool to review the games with our daughters. Best regards, Kathy Miranda USA and All of our reviewers have given it 5 Stars! Here's one from a CYO Coach on June 24, 2011: Great app! Easy to use and highly recommend if you easily want to track stats for your team. Kaboing TV launches with help from Intense Media
346 is the number of backers that helped Joe Murray launch his own independent animation show and web site on kickstarter.com. Murray who created Rocko's Modern World and Camp Lazlo has brought in some animation heavyweights to help him in his dream to produce animations without major studio influences. Nebelsky, who just applied to the Nickelodeon Writing Fellowship is tickled to be a part of such a great endeavor. "I've learned so much from Joe and hope to continue to be a part of his successes," Nebelsky added.
Nebelsky runs his own independent online publishing company and is an Apple Certified Developer. He has created, "My Basketball Stats" for the iPhone.

Intense Media Backs Indy Animation Site
(Gilbert, AZ) Nick Nebelsky, founder and President of Ideation at Intense Media has contributed to the production of a new web animation show, "Frog in a Suit!" The new series, created by Joe Murray (Rocko's Modern Life, Camp Lazlo), will be shown exclusively on KaboingTV.com. It's a web site devoted to independent animators who want to showcase their work without the larger studios control. For more information about Joe Murray, check out his web site (www.joemurraystudio.com).
One of my highlights in animation, came when I had the chance to tour the Nickelodeon Studios with children's book author David Gordon at the SCBWI conference at Century Studio in Los Angeles in August, 2009. I had the distinct privilege to pitch to Disney, Fox Animation, and the Gotham Group. When Disney told me that they would NEVER produce an animation on my subject matter, "Oswald" creator, Dan Yaccarino stood up in my defense and told them otherwise. Dan is now a friend on Facebook. |
