(July. 22, 2011) Intense Media's first iPad app has been accepted by Apple and can now be found in Apple's App Store; bringing its total number of apps to two. Its first app, (MyBaketballStats) has been selling since January and is experiencing consistent sales throughout the world.
The story behind Opening Rome from author Nicholas Nebelsky: "The interactive book was created as a celebration of architecture found in Rome, Italy. Sometimes we would stop on the side of the street just to photograph a door. The archways, door handles, and design always captivated me growing up and when I went there on my honeymoon last year, we found a lot of my photos were of doors and archways. Thus the book grew out of that and the intense love and passion for art and architecture as a whole. There is so much packed into this book with plans to continually expand it. We have a whole series of books planned on different parts of the world. Rome happened to be the first city that we chose to publish."
Opening Rome is Intense Media's first app that was produced, developed, and designed totally in-house. Intense Media was able to do this successfully by using Corona SDK developed by Ansca Mobile (anscamobile.com) and Kwik (an Adobe Photoshop extension). Corona is an SDK that is developed on top of XCode and enables developers to use a much simpler programming language called Lua instead of Objective-C to develop apps. In addition, Intense Media utilized Kwik which works in Photoshop using .PSD files and their layers to build the foundation for interactive books. "There is a slight learning curve, but once you master the basics, development is a breeze," says Nick Nebelsky, Intense Media's CEO and Creative Director.
Intense Media, LLC will continue to produce interactive books and apps that help everyone do better in life!
