(December. 1, 2011) We're less than a month away from our one year anniversary of our first app, My Basketball Stats. The simple-to-use basketball stat-tracking app. It has enjoyed a late sales surge these past couple of months which has pushed it back into first place in units sold for all of our apps. "I'm extremely pleased with the numbers I'm seeing from www.appannie.com which is the web site we use to track our sales," said Nick Nebelsky, CEO and Creative Director of Intense Media, LLC. Sales have slowed a little during the summer months, but as of late, we seeing consistent sales numbers for the past few months.

The story behind My Basketball Stats: The app was created back in the Spring of 2010 when I mentioned to my wife that I wish I had a way to record our son's YMCA youth basketball games. We enjoy watching him play and after the games he would come over to us and ask us how many points he scored and rebounds. We looked at each other and said, "Why not develop a stat tracker app?" So we initially dubbed it iJosh (our son's name of course!). We were going to go ahead with the name, but I felt that My Basketball Stats could be used for all sports, with basketball being the first. And so My Basketball Stats Tracker stuck! We tried to make the app as simple as possible. In other words, we made it do what it says it does–track basketball stats. We didn't want to fill the app with time-consuming features that the kids really didn't care about in the first place.

When we test-marketed other apps, we found that parents and stat trackers cared about data. SHOW ME THE NUMBERS! They shouted!!! Other apps we test drove were cumbersome and slow. What takes us one click to record a stat, other apps we tested took anywhere from 3-5 buttons; thus causing us to miss a lot of the game! We found ourselves asking those around us who assisted whom. It was frustrating! Not so much because we missed the stat, but we missed watching our son! And isn't that why we're there in the first place? So one of the most important features of the app that I wanted in My Basketball Stats was to have one button for each stat so we could be assured we wouldn't miss out on watching "My Basketball Stats"!

My Basketball Stats is about your child, your high school player, or your favorite pro player. This app isn't just about stats. It's about the player and that's why we called it My Basketball Stats! Look for Version 1.2 in the next couple of months with new features.
